The Vermeer D550 horizontal directional drill leads the 550,000-lb (249,475.8-kg) drill class with its impressive 100,000 ft-lb (135,581.8 Nm) of torque with a low operation sound level. This newest generation of drills offers advanced telematics and smart onboard technology. These give your operator and remote personnel real-time drilling and diagnostic information to maximize operating efficiency and productivity. Full control

The ultra-slow speed control technology delivers finite thrust control to optimize cutting action for challenging rock bore conditions, while the two different operating modes help ease the drilling process for smooth and efficient operation.

Class-leading torque

With 100,000 ft-lb (135,581.8 Nm) of torque, you can go from the pilot bore to a larger reamer and reduce the number of passes made on a bore.

Full travel vise

The vise can be positioned up and down the rack as needed when making and breaking tooling joints. Position it close to the carriage for optimal casing handling on direct installation projects.

Low noise levels

The 111 dB(A) sound power allows for a quiet jobsite environment for your crew and helps you adhere to restrictive noise-level requirements.

Mud flow

The 4-in (10.2-cm) fluid course allows more fluid to be pumped downhole at a low pressure drop.
